Generals are basically another way you can boost your offense/defense.
When we come to the game, we all see an icon with General Horatio and the new story in the quest book. Here you have two options. You can either complete all the quests or skip the introduction and you will get the rewards immediately. You do this by clicking the grey button in the tavern. But you will miss out on some really nice battle scenes.
At this moment you have received your first general – Horatio
Where can I see my new general?
Go to this menu and use this icon to access the Generals preview.
I’ve tried to divide it into 5 sections.
Section 1: This is basically an overview of your active and inactive generals. You can get more generals by collecting their shards from the General´s inn.
Section 2: Here you can switch between General’s properties and stats with the story. For example, you can also see the number of battles you won and lost.
Section 3: The level of your general. Each general has a maximum of 100 levels and 2×5 stars. You will have to upgrade both. Clicking on the “+” will take you to your XP upgrade menu, where any XP earned from games in the General´s inn is saved. Once you upgrade your General to level 10, you will need to upgrade also your star level. This is done for shards, which can be earned from offerings in the General´s inn. So after every ten levels you will have to add another star. If you dont do this, no more XPs will be credited to your General until you upgrade your star level.
Leveling up your General is important, as you get 1 skill point for each level, which you can put into the skill tree (I’ll explain later).
Section 4: Here you can assign your General to certain commanders or castellans. This can also be done from the equipment menu, where the general has his own circle slot. Each general can be assigned to both a commander and a castellan, but not to both at the same time.
Section 5: Skills and Abilities. Probably the most important section, as this is where you choose your general’s abilities. We’ll show it off on Castellan. First you need to switch the general’s assignment to Castellan and assign him a general.
Then click on “Skills” button. The skill tree will be opened and here you can allocate your already earned skill points.
Here you can see both skills (blue and red icons) and abilities of your general (icons with pictures) that you can upgrade. Blue icons mean defensive skills, red icons – offensive skills. So if you are setting up your General for defense, make sure to pay attention to the blue icons and the General’s defensive abilities.
Let’s focus on abilities for a moment – you need to choose your abilities correctly so that you don’t waste points on abilities that you won’t use anyway because they are in the same group as another ability.
For example, Horatio can use 4 ability slots and each slot has a defined amount of abilities that can be used. In the first slot, for example, you can only use “Towering Shield”. So we always choose this ability. The second slot is common for three abilities, so you will have to choose one and in the skill tree you only need to activate this selected ability.
Once you have selected all skills and abilities it the tree, don’t forget to activate them in the abilities window and mainly – save them. If you see them here in the slots, you did it right.
If you need to re-allocate points in the skill tree and re-allocate abilities, it’s very easy. Use this token, or it can be purchased with rubies.
Getting XPs and shards
As already mentioned, both can be obtained in the General’s Inn from offerings.
You also gain XPs for your certain General by using him in battles. Either in defense or in attack. However, this amount is limited. You will get the most XPs from the first battle of the day, and less and less from the following battles. At midnight there is a reset (your Genral has rested) and the next day he is ready to gain XPs again.
And finally some additional information, if you would like to know how many XPs and shards you will need to upgrade your Generals or what skills and abilities Generals have, click on these buttons.
