First of all dont buy a khan booster yet AND read the entire guide first; so you wont waste any time of your booster
Step 1:
First step chose the difficulty level to play at:
- When doing a booster the difficulty level is one of the things that will have an effect on the amount of medailles that you get but also the losses
- the amount of tools that you use that give extra medailles, also has a big impact
- The booster that you chose also has an effect on the amount
The sweet spot for a booster is: expert/ expert +/ master
The perfect level for you will depend on your npc cast (good/ bad no npc cast)+ if you have a look item/ the backbone of your castle (lv of the keep/ towers/ stronghold)
Step 2:
Make a good npc castellan:
You can use the 4 equipment pieces (Helmet; Weapon; Armor; Artifact).
With these 4 pieces, the goal is to achieve:
- 140% Melee and Ranged
- 100% Courtyard
- 50% Wall limit
Additionally, you can consider: - Combat power for defending units (up to 20 maximum)
- Combat power for defending units on the flanks (up to 20 maximum)
- Combat power for defending units at the front (up to 20 maximum) less preferred but can be done if you also want to use the gate tools that give extra medals
Afterward, you can start focusing on the gemstones.
Important:
You won’t receive (a lot of) NPC gemstones with 4 effects from the wheel; however, you might get them with luck during the general draws. Depending on how many of these 4-effect gemstones you have, the quality of your NPC castellan will increase.
Gemstones: When it comes to gemstones, the main goal is to increase your courtyard power, wall limit, and ranged power.
Using gemstones, you can get a maximum of 60 courtyard power, 50 ranged power, and 40 extra wall limit. It’s important to use NPC gemstones for the Khan, as the castle lord effects don’t work.
Melee power is less important since you primarily focus on ranged defense on the wall, and your courtyard power slider is set on ranged.
Hero: Similar to gemstones, the most important effects for the hero are courtyard power, extra wall limit, and ranged power (and potentially the effect of extra combat power for defending the main castle, or melee power if you intend to partially defend with melee on the wall). The maximum values for these effects are the same as those for gemstones, Getting a good hero is hard so you might have to compromise.
Now: The NPC castellan is complete. Never forget to set this on your main castle when you start running the Khan. Important: After completing the Khan, remember to switch back to your PvP castellan.
Appearance item: optional but does reduce losses; There are multiple good ones but I like this one which provides 40% courtyard power and 20% wall bonus. Be sure to equip this if you have it! If you’re a ruby spender there are also options in some of the bestsellers to buy/ or in the sceat shop you can get an even stronger look item then the one below.
Step 3: Placing the General on your main castle. Horatio is the best choice here. The number of points you can allocate depends on your level, but this is an example of how you could distribute points in Horatio.
Once you filled in all the points its important to select your ability’s
Make sure to double check that the circles are filled in with the ability icons
Important : If the circles aren’t filled in with the icons of the ability’s then they are not selected/ the effect of the ability’s wont be applied! So make sure they are filled in
Make sure you assign the general to the right castle!
Step 4: Organizing the Wall/defence
*For the keep tower:*
- Remove OS tools/ expensive hall of legends tools
- You can also place plunderer’s trunk here, which provides extra medals
- For thecourtyard slider (The circled part shows how you can view your courtyard ratio) => I set this at 100% Ranged, which ensures you only need ranged defenders and saves time during booster and prevents accidents (= attack troops defending painfull mistake so avoid it)
- You can also see your courtyard limit in this picture (420k soldiers) => This is the minimum number of Defence soldiers you must have stationed in your castle when purchasing defence soldiers; in other words, you always want to stay above 420k defence soldiers to minimize losses and **to prevent your attack soldiers from defending ** So keep in mind that you have to stay above (420k in this example) + your attack troops
- You also see the amount of soldiers you can get extra in courtyard through alliance support;
- All tools with extra medals can be bought in the ‘Nomads’ Camp’ **buy them with the -65% runs sometimes at random during the day **
- Alternatively you can also buy defence tools with coins in the armorer
All tools placed on the wall/moat must be 999 tools per slot, and make sure you have enough tools in stock so you don’t run out during your booster run!
For the moat:
- Remove the expensive tools from hall if you have them
- Place the Inferno Moat (these also provide an additional +3% medals):
- (Its up to you if you want to defend: flank/ front or do double flanking; or flank front:
This depends heavily on: the level of your towers the difficulty level that you chose, if you have hall of legends tools unlocked or not (hall tools hurt), the defence items that you use/how high you boost them (rare, epic or legendary) and also the type of soldiers that you will use to defend: Mead soldiers are strong but cost a lot so its not recommended, You can use nomad defence soldiers instead even though they are weaker they are awesome for boosts
(so in this example im going to defend only the left flank)
Wall arrangement:
Here, you should place Ballista (available for purchase in the tent, but also obtainable from the wheel) on the flank(s) you’re going to defend.
Adjust the wall ratio to 100% ranged.
Step 5: Defensive build items (short)
Barracks / Granary / Keep (Pirates) / Bakery (Pirates) and Stables. There are additional defensive items that you can place on granaries and hospitals for extra % courtyard soldiers and +X number of soldiers in the courtyard (e.g., hospital). You can also place these items => However, make sure to use the X% ranged power on the standard buildings like the keep tower and not the building item that adds +X number of soldiers to the courtyard (because its weaker).
Step 6: Check that you have enough Rage Banners to start provocations.
Step 7: Determine which booster you’re going to buy and do NOT buy it yet.
For all these boosters, you can loop immediately. In other words, if a Khan attack is incoming, you can instantly provoke one again.
The difference lies in time/medal %/Khan tablets %, and Rage % (which affects the number of banners needed to provoke immediately upon an attack).
The first two pictures are fine; the ones that last 15-24 hours are extremely long to sustain as a human.
Step 8: Bird your mead defenders!+ bird the excess of attack soldiers that are in your main castle, for defence we wont be using the mead soldiers so you can just send them away (long enough) to an ally that is in bird, you will need attack soldiers to attack the khan so make sure you leave enough attackers in your main castle but having an overkill of attack soldiers is taking an unnecessary risk and could set you up for a painful mistake so bird them.
Step 9: Quickly check your ** food reserves** (start with a full storage).
Step 10: Request alliance support from your alliance members to fill your alliance OS slot. Make sure they send the defenders long enough for you to provoke the Khan and make sure they do not send mead units!. Purchase the nomad defenders with medals. If you don’t have enough medals, ask someone In your alliance kindly for some Nomad soldiers. There’s usually someone willing to help in exchange for a booster. If you have enough medals, you can also run without alliance help, doing a booster with alliance help is just more efficient but doing a booster without alliance support is certainly possible.
Step 11: Ensure you have a preset with Rage Banners or plunders chest. It’s essential to create a preset that enables you to provoke the Khan instantly or with as little attacks possible. Additionally, set up a preset with Rage Banners and a Ballast Stone. Remember to equip your wave/look items on your commanders to minimize losses and allow you to provoke the Khan in just one attack.
Step 12: Attacking khan also hurts, so make sure your PvP items are also activated but don’t deactivate any of the defense items that you already placed! (in other words don’t destroy the pirate keep build item)!. You can find a guide about them here
Step 13: After selecting which booster you’re going to run, aactivate the alliance boosters for the duration of your Khan run. (Request this from the leadership if you cant activate them yourself, and provide them with the time you’ll be running.
These boosters provide extra defensive power and rage bonuses during attacks.
Now, you can purchase your booster and it will start running immediately. So we need to be fast from here.
What you’re going to do now is attack the Khan Camp Tower as quickly as possible, one commander after the other, multiple times. (so try to have as much attacks send out to the khan as possible and try to have the attacks as close to each other as possible the faster you are the closer they are and the more you can send out!)
For this, you need to do the following each time: Make sure you only have the first wave selected, then click on “Fill Wave”. (also make sure that the tool boxes for event and regular tools are checked)
Then, click on the top box (1). Next, click on the box for the first wave to deselect it (2). Lastly, click on the button for number 3 and use the preset without Ballast Stones.
Send the attacks without horses
Once you’ve sent your first attack, **start your second attack as quickly as possible and repeat ** the same process as described above. Keep sending attacks for as many commanders as possible.
You can continue attacking until the first commander you sent arrives at the Khan’s tower. From that point onwards, keep resetting the Khan Tower’s time (cooldown) and provoke an attack on your main castle each time an attack from you arrives at the khan camp. Do this for all commanders that are on their way.
=> Now, you’ll have a good number of horns close together.
Now, you do the same thing again as explained above and try to get more horns that are really close to each other, send another train of attacks to the Khan Tower as explained earlier. Then, reset the Khan Camp Tower’s time again and provoke it. At the same time, incoming attacks can also reach your main castle. Since you have 999 tools on the wall per slot, you don’t need to refill tools too quickly so you don’t have to worry. You can stay on the Khan Tower screen and keep provoking the Khan from there while sending new attacks and creating more horns at the same time.
Important: Once you have a decent number of horns, around 50-60+ (you can even have 80+ horns with the update of 999 units per slot), it might be useful to turn off the in-game arrows to enhance the gaming experience.
Switch what’s inside the circle off
After this point, you won’t be able to see movement arrows/your army traveling anymore. So, do this only after you’ve accumulated a significant number of horns.
Once you have a good number of horns, you can switch to the Provocation screen in the Nomad Tent.
And then, it’s important to keep adding tools to the wall and moat regularly so that you’re continuously defending with units.
Keep doing this for the entire duration of your booster. Keep in mind that running a booster for such a long time is very hard and difficult.
A few more important notes:
- If you have a small time gap, around 20 seconds, and you still have enough units, you can try to create additional horns by attacking the Khan. You can experiment with speeding up your attack using feathers/coins, and potentially using Ballast Stones and feathers to create more horns. Be cautious not to attempt creating an extra horn on a very tight gap, as it might end up costing you more horns.
- Always ensure that you’re back in the Provocation screen in the Nomad Tent on time, and make sure you consistently have enough tools on the wall and moat.
- Throughout the entire booster, keep buying additional defenders (ranged) consistently. Make sure to buy enough defenders, because once your numbers drop too low, your attackers will start defending!
- At the end of the booster, don’t forget to switch your Guardian from NPC back to PvP mode.
- Towards the end of the booster, you can let all your soldiers die without receiving fire damage. However, if you choose this method, make sure to send away all your attacking soldiers if you find a small gap, or they will die as well!
- make sure to fix your wall setup/ moat setup and keep setup again: Change the sliders all back! ; Leaving 100% ranged on your wall is very dangerous to get wiped; Same thing is true for having full ranged in your courtyard so change it back to 50/50 for courtyard and something like 70/30% melee/ ranged for wall and the appropriate tools (3 quicklime bomb and 1 slit for example on the flank)
- Keep an eye on your food reserves during the booster. Occasionally, you might need to quickly attack a Nomad Camp to avoid running out of food or attack the khan once again.
If an attack is incoming, you can immediately provoke again and you will see the time that’s left until the next attack hits you. Sometimes, it can be beneficial to wait a bit before pressing the provoke button to align the horns closer together, allowing you to potentially insert new horns in between them later. Having gaps of about 2 seconds for horns with sometimes a longer period 10-15-20 seconds to refill defence troops and refill tools on the wall/ moat
The number of horns you run with is ultimately your choice. If you prefer a more relaxed pace, you can run with 30-40-50 horns. If you want to maximize your booster, you can aim for 60-70-80+ horns on a 6 minute incomming.
