Guide to maximize the number of units on your wall and how to calculate it:
So there are a couple of variables that work together to determine your total wall size:
To break it down to its essence:
Total wall size= Flat number + X % wall unit limit
Flat number = (‘Backbone’ of the wall) + built item bonusses (+X amount of units on the wall)
So what determines the backbone of the wall=> Two variables:
- The level that each individual tower has
- The amount of towers that you have
‘Bacbone of the wall’ = amount of towers * the level (units) that the towers have
For level its pretty straight forward: - Lv 1 tower= 10 units
- Lv 2 tower = 20 units
- Lv 3 tower= 30 units
- Lv 4 tower= 40 units
- Lv 5 tower= 50 units
- Lv 6 tower= 65 units
- Lv 7 tower= 80 units
- Lv 8 tower= 100 units
The second component is the amount of towers that you have:
This depends on how many expansion that you have => More expansions = more towers:
A castle that’s fully expanded (without the Sceat expansions from hall) has: 20 towers
And per sceat expansion you get +1 tower so if you have done 3 sceat expansions in a castle you will have => 23 towers
To calculate the number of units that the ‘backbone’ of your wall will provide is simple:
Formula again: ‘Bacbone of the wall’ = amount of towers * the level that the towers have
Two Examples:
- First (simple) example: I have a castle with 23 towers and they all are lv 8
23 * 100 = 2300 units - Second (harder) example: I have a castle with 23 towers but
5 of them are lv 6; 10 are lv 7; 8 are lv 8
So what we will do here is:
5* 65 (amount of units for a lv 6 tower)+ 10* 80 (amount of units for a lv 7 tower) + 8 * 100 (amount of units for a lv 8 tower)
So we get: 5 * 65+ 10 * 80 + 8 *100 = 325 + 800 + 800 = 1925 units
Now that we know how to calculate the backbone, the next to understand is the built item bonusses and once we understand that we can get the ‘Flat number’ to use in our final formula
So to calculate the number from the built item bonuses:
Built item bonus= Temp bonus + permanent item bonus ( temporary bonus will fade after the time of the item has run out)
Temp built item list:
Barracks: + X amount of soldiers on the wall (from 100 to 250 legendary for the mb item; +400 for the 1 day item from offerings or +350 for the ltpe item 28 duration lifespan)
Flower Mill: + X amount of soldiers on the wall (from 175 to 325 legendary)
Guardhouse (sceat shop): X amount of soldiers on the wall (+250 units 42 day duration)
We also have temporary built items in the ltpe shop sometimes
Example of ltpe shop wall item:
We also have permanent (primary) built items that increase the wall:
Primary built item lv 32 example:
And if you have ever won an ltpe event you might have gotten a permanent built item for the wall (often its on guardhouses to)
So to calculate the total built item bonus you just add all active bonusses together
Now we can calculate the flat number:
Flat number = (‘Backbone’ of the wall) + built item bonusses (+X amount of units on the wall)
And with the flat number we can calculate the total wall size
Total wall size= Flat number + X % wall unit limit
But before we do that lets first dive deeper into the + X % wall unit limit and everything that effects this number:
The % will be affected by:
Your castellan: 130% max
50% (max) wall unit limit when defending
40% (max) wall unit limit when defending against castle lords (gems)
40% (max) wall unit limit when defending against castle lords (hero)
If you want to boost your wall for khan/ npc’s you need to switch to wall unit limit when defending against npc targets
Dhol: 10-25% max (depending how you spend points) against castle lords no affect on npcs
Castellan look item: 20-30 % bell of spring for example
Generals: 57% max
(horratio currently the highest %) combination of flat points 36% + skill wall amount 21%
Important the 21% only activates just before the fight happens so when you use this skill your
your wall will be a bit bigger then the number that you see in the defence overview because of this skill % not being applied yet
Support defense tool: +20% -> +40% max lv
So the total + X% will be just the addition of all the bonusses
+X% = castellan bonus + dhol bonus + look item + Generals + Defense tools
So now we can finally determine the total amount of soldiers that we will get
Total wall size= Flat number + X % wall unit limit
So for this were just going to have a couple of examples
First example my castle:
Backbone= 23 towers all lv 8 => 2300 units
Built items: 435 (primairy) + 175 (flower mill temp item) => 610 units
Flat number= 2300+ 610 = 2910
+X % wall unit limit= 144.9% (castellan+ look) +57% Horatio +40% tool=> 241.9%
2910 + ( 2910 *2.419)= 2910 +7039.29 = 9949.29
And as you can see my castle wall =>
It doesn’t match?! => Remember the Skill from horratio is a pre battle effect so you only see the effect of the skill in the battle report
So lets calculate it again without the skill:
Flat number= 2300+ 610 = 2910
+X % wall unit limit= 144.9% (castellan+ look) +36% Horatio +40% tool=> 220.9%
=> 9338 So that’s about the number that we get to see in the overview, due to a couple numbers being rounded it is a little different but this way you can calculate your wall size with very good accuracy
Second example: No items
I have a castle with 23 towers but 5 of them are lv 6; 10 are lv 7; 8 are lv 8
Castellan + look= 110% extra wall, dhol 25%
So what we will do here is:
5 * 65 (amount of units for a lv 6 tower)+ 10* 80 (amount of units for a lv 7 tower) + 8 * 100 (amount of units for a lv 8 tower)
So we get: 5 * 65+ 10 * 80 + 8 * 100 = 325 + 800 + 800 = 1925 units
1925 + 1925 * 1.35 = 4523.75 => 4524 So if you were to check in your overview you would have about 4524 units on your wall to defend the attack
So to give a short list of what will impact/ increase the units on your wall:
- The amount of towers 23 max
- The level of the towers max Lv 8
- Primairy build item the higher the better
- Temp build items + X units on the wall and the booster that you used (normal/ green/ purple/ gold)
- The higher you get ‘+ X % wall unit limit’ the bigger the flat number will be boosted
